Overlay information incorrect for selections selected one at a time

When multiple files/folders are selected, the overlay information is supposed to show how many folders and files are selected but not try to count the size. This works correctly when the selection is made using rubberbanding or Ctrl-Click but, when selecting using the helpers or Shift-Click, only information on the individual folder/file hovered over is given.
