[gutsy] iPod nano 3G support

Bug #163827 reported by Luis Alberto Pabón

libgpod (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

The new iPod nano (3G, video) seems to use a checksum on the media database. To make it short, only libgpod 0.6.0 supports this player, however, the version shipped on Gutsy and Hardy is 0.5.2

Is there any plans to update libgpod on this Ubuntu release?

There is no plan to upload 0.6.0 to gutsy, it has a new depends to sgutils which is an universe software and main packages can't have Depends in universe

Changed in libgpod:
status: New → Invalid

Sebastien,

so what does this mean? Will Ubuntu be able to sync with my iPod ever?
Will the fixes be uploaded to universe? Do I have to revert to windows?

I guess it'll be fixed in Hardy.. In the meantime, i bought an iriver clix2 which works great out of the box and has ogg support. Apple pulled one trick to many on me ;)
