I get this error when booting after a clean install of Ubuntu Gutsy. I have seen several similar bug reports for other Acer computers, and here is another one.

Hi!
I'm trying to install Ubuntu Gusty Gibbon in my laptop ACER Aspire 1694 with the following hardware specifications:
.- Intel Pentium M processor 760 (2.0 GHz, 533 MhZ fsb, 2 MB L2 cache)
.- ATI Mobility Radeon X700 PCI Express wit 128 MB VRAM
When I start it once it is installed it throws this error:

After that the screen goes completely black and I have to enter to tty in order to initializing the OS.
When I enter to tty1 the OS deployment starts automatically and GDM and X finally appears.
If tried to boot with the options pci=routeirq and apci=off but it didn't work.
I have to proceed by this way every time I try to open my laptop (I only have Ubuntu 7.10 installed in it).
