Bug Description
Binary package hint: tracker
This is possibly the same as Ubuntu Bug #155700 but its reporter thought not, so I'm filing it separately; if one can be shown to be a duplicate, please mark it as such, thank you.
When one starts typing something in the Search field of the deskbar applet, messages in the form of "trackerd [...] CRITICAL [...] assertion [...] failed" appear in ~/.xsession-errors and the "Bug Buddy" may open, asking users to report the issue to Gnome. Examples:
** (trackerd:5479): CRITICAL **: tracker_
** (trackerd:6248): CRITICAL **: scan_directory: assertion `tracker_

I filed it on Gnome: http:// bugzilla. gnome.org/ show_bug. cgi?id= 489094 bugzilla. gnome.org/ show_bug. cgi?id= 474131
But they market it as a duplicate of http://
and they noted that: "it's from tracker returning a file that does not exist anymore. It's
fixed in 2.20.1" so the fix is ready upstream...
