Bug Description

Whole UI crashes and returns to login screen. All open applications are closed (the whole session is gone). Crashes happen irregularly but seem to be provoked by window resizes or window animations

nimu, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.

As per http://support.ts.fujitsu.com/Download/ShowFiles.asp an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (2.09). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything?

If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette .

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report.

Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible, and the information above is provided, then please mark this report Status New. Otherwise, please mark this as Invalid.

Thank you for your understanding.

penalvch, thank you for your help.

I don't want to risk a BIOS update for now, so I cannot tell you if the bug is somehow BIOS-related.

Instead, I have decided to try an update of my graphics drivers using this repo:
ppa:oibaf/graphics-drivers

This "fixes" the crash problem.

So, while it may still be true, that this bug is somehow BIOS-related, the fact that I am not experiencing any crashes since I've updated the graphics drivers suggests that there probably is something wrong with the graphics drivers that Ubuntu 15.10 uses by default.

nimu, what will be most helpful is if you returned your packages to the ones from the Ubuntu repositories (i.e. remove the PPA packages), then added the PPA, then updated one package at a time from that PPA to find out which package precisely is the one that addressed this issue.
