Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

The problem is usually occurred in China. Because of some known or unknown causes, it is impossible to connect to Google servers without VPNs. You have to find a VPN which is not in China, and then retry to install it.

Are there well-known mirrors of this content in China? If so, it would be great to have a patch that also tries other mirrors in addition to Google's.

I just updated this package and uploaded it to our PPA to support two Chinese mirrors if the Google download link does not work. Please try it and see if it works for you.
