 wineserver[4754]: segfault at 135232d0 ip 00000000135232d0 sp 0000000077340c60 error 14 in ld-2.19.so[7fee13522000+23000]

when running under kernel 3.13.0-59-generic

It works with kernel 3.13.0-58-generic

I'm having the same problem since the update on 07/27/2015. Nothing I've tried runs under Wine 1.6 or 1.7 and Syslog says segfault.

Several users in Ubuntu Forum also having same issue, including me.

Manually starting wine server first in terminal worked, but error still flashed by as I started Picasa.

wineserver -p

Starting wineserver from a terminal also works for me with no apparent issues running Lotus WordPro. TNX.

After kernel 3.13.0-59-generic installed in UBUNTU 14.04.2

 wine 1.6.2 (which is latest in ubuntu dist lib)
 fails with: Jul 29 08:58:34 wb4alm-07 kernel: [ 143.864739] wineserver[2956]: segfault at cf192d0 ip 000000000cf192d0 sp 000000009e13a1b0 error 14 in ld-2.19.so[7f8a0cf18000+23000]

If I reboot using kernel 3.13.0-58-generic everything works...

This began right after kernel 3.13.0-59. Wine works without error if I boot into kernel 3.13.0-58

I found that running 'wineserver -p' in a terminal then trying the wine application works. http://askubuntu.com/questions/653732/wine-segfault-on-ubuntu-14-04

Affects me on 12.04 wine 1.4. Running 'winserver -p' in a terminal gets things going.

Have the same issue. wine doesn't start at kernel -59 updated yesterday. reboot system with 58 kernel - wine works fine.

Problem with wine resolved after kernel 3.13.0-61 installed.
so this is a duplicate of 1479093
