Bug Description
The 15.04 includes 7.3.x version of the e1000 driver:
# modinfo e1000
filename: /lib/modules/
version: 7.3.21-k8-NAPI
license: GPL
description: Intel(R) PRO/1000 Network Driver
author: Intel Corporation, <email address hidden>
However, the latest version from Intel is 8.0.35 from 2011:
Version: 8.0.35 (Latest)
Date: 10/17/2011
Size: 0.21 MB
Language: English
Operating Systems: Linux*
Would be great to upgrade Ubuntu to newer version since the older 7.x version for e1000 has well known problems with Tx Unit Hang error.
