bumblebee fails to work correctly on 15.04

Bug Description
After upgrading to 15.04, bumblebee's optirun fails to work correctly:
$ optirun --verbose glxgears

This persists even after upgrading to the latest NVidia binary drivers (nvidia-346). lspci shows that the nvidia chip is present:
