Bug Description
When I hook up my laptop to an external display (most prominently a monitor/tv, but possibly also beamers, etc), do not shut down the laptop when the lid is closed. The OS should detect whether external displays are attached. If there are any, the screen should automatically be mirrored and the resolution should adapt to the external monitor (while turning off the laptop screen).
In other words: I want to plug the HDMI of my monitor into my laptop and close the lid within a matter of 5 seconds and elementary OS should present itself on the monitor as if I were using a desktop pc.
Current situation: I attach my laptop to my monitor -> I go to Switchboard -> Displays plug -> turn mirroring on -> close the lid -> system goes to sleep -> screen turns black.
