Bug Description
The "Modem Monitor" applet does not authenticate using the sudo password.
Probably it might be still checking with the "root" password and not the user
password (user with sudo permissions)
Steps to replicate
1. Add the "Modem Monitor" applet to the panel
2. Right click on the "Modem Monitor" applet and select "properties"
3. It displays a message for authentication and throws a password dialog.
4. Enter the sudo users password in the text and click enter
5. It says that the password is invalid.

Thanks for your bugreport.
I can't reproduce this problem here. Both "activate" and "Properties" take my
user-password.
