Bug Description

Hi
I asked a question but have been directed here.Sometimes when I save a SVG to a pdf, the file seems corrupted, it does not open in reader at all and does open in foxit (6.2.1.618) but when you zoom in the reader crashes. Often files 'redraw' them selves when open in a pdf reader and are very slow to load.
My inscape version is was dowloaded off the website 3 april 2014 (0.48.4 r9939). I am running on windows 8.1 pro on 64 bit
I have attached a sample of the original svg prior to be saved as a pdf
Thanks

Could you please add information to the bug description about which installer was used (32bit|64bit, exe|msi|paf.exe|7z)?

Additionally, it might be helpful for further triage if you could attach the saved PDF file to the bug report as well.

Changed in inkscape:

The SVG file you attached was last edited with inkscape:version="0.48.4 r9939".

The PDF file reveals that the Inkscape version used for savong a copy as PDF includes cairo 1.11.2, which means that you downloaded and installed a 32bit version of Inkscape (the 64bit builds for Windows of latest Inkscape 0.91 use cairo 1.14.1).

Could you test the performance in your perferred PDF viewers with the
attached PDF files, exported with Inkscape 0.48.5 and 0.91 (both using
cairo 1.14.0) on OS X 10.7.5?

Yes, both pdf's from the links opened and zoomed perfectly on all readers. Brilliant!
What do I need to do?

Question to members of the bug team: could someone with both 32bit and 64bit Windows builds of Inkscape installed confirm my suspicion that the reported poor performance of the originally attached PDF file in native PDF viewers is related to the creating cairo version (i.e. newer cairo produces more compatible PDF files)?

Setting bug status for project 'Inkscape' to 'Triaged' for now - AFAICT this is an upstream issue with older versions of cairo.
Report can be closed for Inkscape once all Windows packages ship with a newer cairo release.
