Inkscape Won't Launch OSX Yosemite GTK Error

Bug Description
I tried to launch Inkscape after updating to Yosemite Beta but it crashed without opening a window.
I tried opening it from the command line and was greeted by this lovely message:
$ ./Inkscape
Warning: AppleCollationOrder setting not found, using AppleLocale.
Setting Language: .UTF-8
(process:15218): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
Using the fallback 'C' locale.

I tried opening XQuartz first and launching Inkscape from Xterm, both nada.
Then went for the classic reinstall of Inkscape and XQuartz for laughs but nothing changed.
I can use other X11 apps, (ssh X forwarding works fine) so I'm pretty sure my display variable is set correctly.

Inkscape was working fine before the upgrade so I'm not sure what the deal is.

XQuartz Version: 2.7.7

Please reinstall XQuartz after upgrading to Yosemite, and then download and install the current Inkscape package for OS X from inkscape.org (Inkscape 0.48.5).
