Bug Description

Current CF version (from the Treviño repository):

compiz 1:0.5.5~git20070828=3v1ubuntu0 (feisty)

compiz-fusion-plugins-main 0.5.2~git20070828=3v1ubuntu0 (feisty)

I am currently using the gconf backend.

Following these steps:

1. Open any window/app on a new viewport/desktop and then switch to a another new viewport/desktop and open another window. So basically you have two windows open (perferably different windows/apps so you can differentiate between the two) on 2 different viewports/desktops.

2. Now initiate the Shift Switcher for all windows (I'm using the Super+Alt+Tab combo) and switch between the two windows. Upon selection (releasing Super+Alt+Tab) there is a nasty "screen jump" on re-focus that implies the wrong desktop is regaining focus before the correct desktop/window is displayed (during the re-focus animation).

After a clean install to the latest GIT update (from the Terviño repo), I'm still (oddly enough) getting this issue with Shift Switcher.

I'm trying to establish if this is localized to my install or if it is more wide-spread.

Let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks again.

Little video as promised.

I think Cube rotate should be initialed earlier.
I hope that this would solve the problem.

best wishes

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 beta or later?

Hi! I've tested this on Oneiric and it seems to be working fine. Can anyone confirm that this is fixed?

The compiz program that we currently use in Ubuntu is a C++ re-write of the original compiz and was announced the 4th July 2010. Therefore, the bugs that were reported before that date, will be marked as "Won't Fix" as they probably exist in the original program which is not stored in launchpad.

no longer affects: compiz
