With long paths, every breadcrumb becomes truncated

Bug Description

When there is an extremely long path in Files the location bar does not look good. We should hide some of the middle/beginning options (maybe with a ...>) so that you can see the current and previous 1/2 directories.

I agree with OP. We should ensure the current and previous directory are fully visible as well as the first.

In the current trunk (not released in Freya), the algorithm has been changed so that the folder names to the end of the path (the current folder and its parent) get truncated last. There is another bug raised about the fact that it is possible to shrink the window smaller than the pathbar.
