Bug Description
I use Linux Mint 16 with Cinnamon 2.0.14, 32 bits.
Frequently, when I use the new user switch feature, Cinnamon or X.org (not sure) become unstable and unresponsive, I need to restart MDM to can continue working.
My graphics card is AMD/ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5600, and fglrx restricted driver is in use.

This has been an issue for me for several releases. At the moment I'm running 64-bit Linux Mint 18.1 with Cinnamon 3.2. Here's the steps that cause the error for me:
1) Someone uses Switch User to log in to the system and uses it for a while. The issue rarely happens if the other user just logs on and off again without doing much.
2) The other user logs out, and I log back in in.
After I log back in, everything appears normal at first, then after interacting with a couple of windows, UI elements stop responding. For example, I can no longer restore windows that have been minimized; applications do not close with the x in the corner of the window.
The cinnamon menu is often still drawn in this state; if it is, I recover by selecting the logout option from the menu. The logout dialog does not draw, but I can still logout by pressing enter on the invisible dialog.
