HUD does not show global menu items in ubuntu 13.10

Bug Description
In Ubuntu 12.04 the HUD showed all menu items from open applications.
For example I was able to press "Alt" + search for shutdown and the shutdown entry showed up.
It was also possible to search for "play/pause etc." and if an open music player app like banshee was running I was able to invoke these commands.
Unfortunately this extremely useful behavior stopped working in ubuntu 13.10.
It seems that the HUD in Ubuntu 13.10 only searches through focused application. So for example If i have banshee focused, then I see all banshee commands. However, this is a huge step backward.
