data format: python or json?

According to the above page the dataformat is python. This would be dangerous.

My test.otwd is a zip archive which contain a JSON file.

I guess the above page needs to be updated.

What's described on that page is more or less the internal data format. Which indeed consists out of Python dicts, lists, datetime's, etc.

What you describe is the OpenTeaching Words file format, which is pretty much our data format serialized to JSON stored in a zip archive.

I'll add a comment on the page you reference about that, to make the distinction clearer.
