Bug Description

Hi! Just back from a long trip, I went to update our FOSS User Group meetings info for tomorrow's meeting (Massachusetts Loco Group). And was dumped out, unceremoniously.

It started better than before, with a good-looking interface that prompted me far less ambiguously than it did before. But where are my prior meeting announcements? Why will I have to re-invent this information? FIX THAT!!

I made a first attempt at doing so and proceeded. There was a compllaint about insufficient information (which I don't understand), followed by an apparent loss of my entered data! Try again FROM SCRATCH?? WHY?? FIX THAT!!

I'm in a hurry to get to a meeting elsewhere. I only have time to report this shortfall, before I forget why I'm unable to complete my volunteered task at this time.

Thanks for YOUR volunteer time! I hope this helps.

You're welcome; thanks for your prompt offer of help!

I have some confusion there, because Ubuntu seems to confuse the terms
"meeting" and "event". I'd think our monthly meetings are "meetings",
and a one-time or annual event would be an "event", but perhaps that's
not Ubuntu's interpretation. Where IS that defined, for us to conform
better?

By my definition, we have no past meetings (Ubuntu "events") archived
since June 2013, although July and August meetings were held. NO future
meetings are shown, although in early July I put them on-line through
September, and perhaps through year-end.

Our next meeting is TOMORROW AFTERNOON, and now it's not listed!

What went wrong? How can I help? (Again, my attempt to correct it this
morning was canceled rather abruptly.)

Cheers from

Thanks for your informations,

so "Events" are IRL meetings and "Meetings" are IRC meetings, i have looked at the database and i didn't see any data losses, on the other side you are right, i have found a minor bug which prevent data from being saved once submitted throw the form, i have a fix for it, this happened because you have not filled all the required fields(this includes the IRC channel).

if you have any questions please let me know.

Hi, Adnane:

IRL? IRC channel? We don't know about those, don't want to, and the
entry process was not illuminating. We didn't have to worry about them,
until our meeting announcements were removed in or after July!

We are only offering a free, monthly MEETING that focuses on Ubuntu
Linux, and have been doing so for a few years. Does that now disqualify
us from sharing our invitation on the Ubuntu loco pages?

Please just tell us how to get past this new (and, I hope, unintended)
obstacle for volunteers, and appropriately post our meetings.

Puzzled and short on time,

Thank you! It IS fixed; no obstacles, and no "trick questions" (for the ininformed). Furthermore, I was able to enter some past events without issue. This is the smoothest Loco Calendar update I've experienced yet, and that's much appreciated!
