Wingpanel doesn't have a proper indicator for VPN connection - no padlock nor anything else what can inform that you're under secure connection

Wingpanel is only the application that shows the indicators, but the indicators themselves are separate projects and libraries. You may want to report this either for indicator-network or elementaryicons.
