After upgrading my Trusty system for kernel 3.13 to kernel 4.4 the touchpad of my XPS 13 9333 (2014) is not working any more.

I have found a possible solution on https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2322413 and I hav thus tried to install xserver-xorg-input-synaptics.

The apt-get output is:

[~]#apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 xserver-xorg-input-synaptics : Depends: xorg-input-abi-20
                                Depends: xserver-xorg-core (>= 2:1.14.99.902)
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

The first of the broken packages is xorg-input-abi-20, which is not installable exactly as
xorg-input-abi-19 .

I am inclined to think that the bug is the same ...
