Bug Description
I know that there are good arguments for not having Gufw running all the time -- IE it doesn't have to run to protect... However, I personally really would like to see the icon in the tray (when closing or minimizing) for the following reasons: I would like the icon to have right click options to block all incoming and outgoing, or to allow all incoming and outgoing. It a quick way for me to block everything during long period when I don't need my computer for any external networking (added sense of security), and I like to allow all incoming and outgoing so that I can test certain apps or commands that don't work and possibly may be blocked by the firewall.

The notification area in 11.04 only allows certain apps to appear there - you can whitelist more (or all) of them though through terminal. Pidgin, though, is not blacklisted, it just appears in the messaging menu (the little folder next to the clock). /wiki.ubuntu. com/DesktopExpe rienceTeam/ ApplicationIndi cators# Technical% 20Resources

I'll try to do this feature with Quicklist, bug #986593
Best regards and thanks for your idea :D
