Hi thopiekar,
this is a urgent problem.
Unfortunalety xbmc is not in the core of Ubuntu. It resides in "Universe".
This ment that this problem needs to be reported upstream.
Normally I would do this for you and link back here.
I have found for xbmc on their homepage a wiki that describe how they want to have a report:

Regarding to this document there must be provided some more information and presented in the right form.
