Bug Description

Version 0.4.12
Desktop Environment: Unity
Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit

I'd like to see an option where when I choose local folders for my wallpapers, they automatically go in the order in the folders, instead of just randomly, like how it is now.

The problems with this are outlined in this question: https://answers.launchpad.net/variety/+question/212023
Still, as several people already have requested this, I'll think if there's a way to provide it somehow but it is low on the priority list.

I believe that this suggestion is one that, if it is able to be implemented in conjunction with some other wishlist item, should be given consideration.

If that (^) does come to pass, then I propose enhancing this request to allow the specification of the "sequence" as entries in an external text file, thus allowing variety to incorporate a 'slide show' attribute.

+1 for this bug, I looked all over the place to cycle wallpapers in sequential fashion, not randomly. Windows has native options for both preferences.

Here's actually what I'd like to see (and see if others agree): cycle images by sequential/random preference, but also add an additional preference to show the latest downloaded image(s) on the next cycle(s). That way, we can immediately see what's been freshly downloaded during our "regularly scheduled program." That would be the best implementation imo.
