atop unusable in Quantal: trap divide error

Bug Description

After upgrading from Precise to Quantal, atop is completely unusable.

$ atop
$ dmesg | tail -2
[ 1292.322680] Process accounting paused

$ atop

This bug report <http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=686329> says this can happen if /var/run is nearly full, but it is not on my system:

$ df /var/run
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
tmpfs 791M 768K 791M 1% /run

I tried purging and reinstalling atop, but it made no difference.

atop has always worked just fine until I upgraded to Quantal.

The bug is present in wily 15.10...

Started to occur for me after upgrading from 12.04 to 16.04

atop is mostly usable, but I see these (once per day, one sec after midnight) in kern.log:

Which version fixes this? I'm currently on 16.04 using atop 1.26-2build1 and the bug is still present.

Installing the 2.x release from 16.10 or higher fixes it in 16.04 for me: https://raymii.org/s/articles/atop_is_broken_on_Ubuntu_16.04.html
