Bug Description
I just did "apt-get update" and "apt-get upgrade" earlier today. I'm running the latest raring image:
3.1.10.-8-nexus7 #17-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT Thu Dec 6 14:51:52 UTC 2012 ...
After the latest upgrade, this morning, the system comes up in landscape, just as always, however it will sometimes suddenly go into portrait mode. I haven't been able to clearly determine when this happens. The last time it happened was when I had just rebooted the system and I started "Terminal" before the initial keychain unlock dialog box came up. At that point, there was much flashing on the screen, redrawing the screen, and when it settled, it was in portrait. I see no way to get it back into landscape, and mouse presses in portrait mode don't seem to be read correctly.
I'll update this bug if I learn anything else. This was due to a change in the last few days, however.

I still have not seen this but I know many others have, marking. See Bug# 1070755. This has been going on since Quantal. To my knowledge there are no set steps that a user can carry out to force this to occur. It may very well need to be escalated to Nvidia.
Marking confirmed. Richard, would you be able to post your experience in bug #1070755. I'm going to mark this one as a dup of #1070755.
