Changing status in the messaging menu does not start Empathy

Bug Description

Before Empathy is launched, changing the status from "offline" to "online" in the wingpanel doesn't connect the accounts. The status is rightly changed in the menu but it's only when empathy is started that the status is correctly set up.

Thanks for following up! Add Empathy to Startup Applications in System Settings to get the desired behavior.
