gm-notify has not yet been ported to the new libmessaging-menu API in 12.10 (well, there is a test build in my ppa but nothing in the main repositories). This progress is being tracked in bug https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ gm-notify/ +bug/1040259 , so I am going to mark this report as a duplicate of that one.
