Bug Description

This was observed with a quantal compiz candidate build: 1:0.9.8.2-0ubuntu1~test9
From: http://ppa.launchpad.net/timo-jyrinki/compiz-quantal-testing2/ubuntu/

The dash can get into a state where only the launcher and panel portions are rendered (desaturated and transparent respectively), but the dash itself is not shown. When this occurs, clicking on an application does not give it focus, keyboard input also appears to be lost. Clicking the BFB does return dash to normal behavior

[Test Case 1]
 - Press Alt+F1 (highlight the BFB)
 - Tap Super+A

[Test Case 2]
 - Load system with multiple instances of: "while true; do true; done"
 - Quickly attempt to switch workspaces with Alt+Ctrl+Arrow while alternating with attempts to show the dash with Super key. (This failure case is very intermittent).

[Expected Outcome]
Application lens (test case 1) or dash (test case 2) should be shown

[Actual Results]
The entire dash is shown for less then a second, then disappears (see screenshot). The panel and launcher appear as if the dash was shown. Input appears hung, but can be recovered by pressing Super or clicking the BFB.
