Bug Description

The "Show bluetooth status in the menu bar" option at the bottom of the Bluetooth panel in System Settings was dropped when we switched to gnome-bluetooth 3.4 at the beginning of the quantal cycle.

gnome-bluetooth moved a bunch of its code to the gnome-control-center source.

Thank you for your bug report, are you sure we kept that option before?

the option was added in precise and reverted with that changelog entry

" * debian/patches/01_use_app_indicator.patch:
    - dropped (design decision), hiding system indicators is not
something most user do and doesn't require a visible ui element,
the gsettings key is still available though"

Jeremy, is that screenshot really precise? it doesn't match what it's supposed to be, but maybe we that sneak in somewhat

Yes, that was an outdated screenshot. I forgot that the extra UI was intentionally dropped. Thanks!
