Bug Description
Searching in dash isn't very consistent, for instance:
If you are searching for 'NetBeans', and enter 'net' then it shows the correct result, but if instead you search for 'netb' all results are cleared (this happens in most of the searches, unless you type exactly the name of the application... and sometimes not even then).
Also, if you search for parts of the names it doesn't work, for instance entering 'erminal' instead of 'terminal' (which is very common since there's a delay when opening dash).
My suggestion is to search if the entered string is contained in the name and application regardless of the case, this is fairly easy.
I manage around 50 ubuntu pcs that are used for teaching, and almost all new users (and not so new) have this same problems.
Not a paper cut, but definitely a bug in Unity.
