Bug Description
I set an alarm time and tested the sound - I could hear it perfectly. But the alarm never made a sound. After several test it turns out that you have to tick the box to the right to enable it (I had thought this only toggled a countdown view).
I think:
1) the alarms should be ticked by default
2) the checkbox column should be titled "enable" or similar
3) disabled alarms should be greyed out so that the user knows what's going on and doesn't run into trouble

This is related to #824337, although this bug report includes more usability problems. I lack feedback on #824337 so please take a look and see if the suggested changes would be satisfactory, or if you believe more changes are necessary.
