Bug Description
I am the maintainer of Cuneiform OCR system's Linux port. The project home page is here: https:/
The project is under the BSD license and is tested to work on x86 and amd64. A Gentoo ebuild can be found here: https:/
I would like to have Cuneiform packaged for Ubuntu, but unfortunately I lack the time and skills for that. To get started, here is a skeleton control file:
Source: cuneiform
Section:
Priority: optional
Maintainer: No-one <email address hidden>
Standards-Version: 3.6.1
Build-Depends: cmake libmagick++-dev
Package: cuneiform
Architecture: i386 amd64
Depends: ${shlibs:depends}
Description: A high performance OCR system.
Cuneiform is an OCR system. In addition to text recognition
it also does layout analysis and text format recognition.
Cuneiform supports several languages.

Attached are debian packaging files that can be used to build a deb package of Cuneiform. It works for me, but I have no prior experience in packaging.
I can't maintain the packaging, but should someone want to take over, it should be easy and straightforward.
