Bug Description

Ubiquity should run fsck before trying to remove files from existing filesystem.

Ubuntu 12.04 Installation failed when tried to install on ext4 partition with Ubuntu 11.04 without formating.

ext4 filesystem contained errors:

Ubuntu installer (ubiquity and/or d-i) should run fsck before trying to remove files from existing filesystem.
It's very important, I don't understand why Ubuntu developers doesn't care about this problem :(
Should I report another bug tittled "Ubuntu installer (ubiquity and/or d-i) should run fsck before trying to remove files from existing filesystem" ?

This release of Ubuntu is no longer receiving maintenance updates. If this is still an issue on a maintained version of Ubuntu please let us know.
