Skype does not show an icon in Trusty

Bug Description

I've upgraded to Trusty and now Skype does no longer show an icon in the top left. Therefore I cannot see notifications any more.

sudo apt-get install sni-qt:i386

still does not work for me. sni-qt is installed for both amd64 and i386 restarted the session, several reboots since then, no change, no icon.
