Confirmed with Ubuntu 10.10 in Virtualbox, but it's o.k. in 10.04.

This applet is unusable for me. The background for the text is transparent, and apparently cannot be changed that I can see. I can change the color of the text itself, and most of the background, but for the text background, it is unreadable depending on what is behind it. If the text is black, it can be read if the underlying background is dark, and vice versa.

Oh, sorry, I forgot to add that I am using Ubuntu 11.10, in Gnome classic mode.

is readable only if there is a white window/backgroun behind it.

is there not a way to modify it's settings somewhere?
all I can change is the ICON text and background .. ?
