The notification-deamon applet shows some blank spaces. Also I chose to hide the energy management not to show but it's just invisible in a blank spot...

For future reference, the notification-daemon applet is part of the awn-extras project, and so bugs relating to it must go there.

Also, are you sure that you don't mean the notification area applet?

I'm seeing the same behaviour with the Notifcation Area applet (not the daemon). When I mouse over the blank spaces, a tool tip from pidgin appears (indicating an new message).

Ubuntu 10.04, compiz. Running with a bar 32px wide and two columns in the notification area.
