Bug Description

Some applications rely on the GOA functionality to add accounts. E.g if you install the gnome-contacts package you can't connect it to your next/owncloud because UOA only supports Google ATM.

This would also make it easier to setup Gnome-Calendar which is preinstalled since Xenial.

Is there a specific reason why this isn't supported, since Upstream has support for that?

Yes, Not supporting open source owncloud server in Ubuntu is really a fail.

in 16.04 , we have to install GOA and it does not work as expected.

providing a "Cloud" full feature (contacts/agenda/mail/files) like ICloud and Onedrive is a must if we want to compete with APple/microsoft on the desktop

Adding Oem-priority project because it affects Ekimia to propose a "cloud" feature preinstalled on computers.

Does 'sudo snap install nextcloud' work for you on 16.04?

Hi Mark :-)

We are talking about Full client support here.

this is why I marked it as duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/account-plugins/+bug/1245655
