default video player should be the one that works flawlessly with all formats

Bug Description
I've done a little research on which video players to use and not to try to use in Ubuntu 12.04 on Toshiba AC100 -- https:/
Why not make either smplayer or gxine (the ones that worked the best) the default video players in the distro suggested at https:/
That would make the life of many users easier, save their time and efforts in trying to find a working players, adn keep them away from despair.
